425 year old Complete Set of Shulchan Aruch. Venice, 1598
Four volumes of Shulchan Aruch by Rabbi Yosef Karo with Biur Hamilos (explanation of hard words).
Complete spetacular copy with all 4 volumes bound in elaborate leather bindings.
The title page verso features a foreword by the famed Bragadin printers of Italy in which they recount their efforts to print Hebrew books for their Jewish customers.
Throughout the pages of the Orach Chaim volume there are marginalia with handwritten chiddushim and explanation.
Venice, 1598. Orach Chaim: 102 leaves. [1],
Yore Dayah 102-193, [1] leaf ( incorrect page count);
Even Haezer: 56 leaves;
Choshen Mishpat: [1], 57-176 with separate title pages for each volume.
Condition: Good with minor stains. Title page of Orach Chaim and last page in Choshen Mishpat restored at margins. Matching bindings; preserved in attractive matching leather case.
