MONICA VITTI - AUTOGRAPHED PORTRAIT PHOTO - Monica Vitti, pseudonym of Maria Luisa Ceciarelli (Rome, 3 November 1931 – Rome, 2 February 2022), was an Italian actress. Her characteristic hoarse voice and innate verve have accompanied her for almost forty years of film career, from dramatic performances in Michelangelo Antonioni's tetralogy of incommunicability (The Adventure, The Night, The Eclipse and The Red Desert) which gave her international fame, to those in brilliant roles (from The Girl with the Gun to I know that you know that I know) which led her to be considered the only ”starfighter” of Italian comedy, standing up to her male colleagues Alberto Sordi (”I know that you know that I know”, ”My love help me”, ”Stardust”...) Ugo Tognazzi, Vittorio Gassman (”At midnight goes the patrol of pleasure”), Nino Manfredi, Giancarlo Giannini, Renato Pozzetto and Marcello Mastroianni. This role of hers has somewhat eclipsed her feminine and elegant appearance (as often happens to comic actresses), which however is evident from this photo, which also highlights her beauty. She has received numerous awards, including five David di Donatello as best leading actress (plus four other special awards), three Nastri d'argento, twelve Globi d'oro (two of which for lifetime achievement), a Ciak d'oro for lifetime achievement, a Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement in Venice, a Silver Bear at the Berlinale, a Concha de Plata in San Sebastián and a BAFTA Award nomination.
