A Painted Figure of an Arab Gentleman by D. Thérécoulin, Cairo.
Depicting a standing Arab man in a theatrical pose, this painted plaster figure wears a traditional green robe with a prominent orange sash, over which a white draped garment flows down to his feet. His right hand is raised near his face in a gesturing posture, while a sword rests by his side. The figure stands on a black plinth inscribed D. Thérécoulin, Cairo.
