A MEISSEN PORCELAIN FIGURINE ALLEGORY OF WATER, 19TH C.
Meissen porcelain figurine "Allegory of the element of water, " designed by Johann Joachim Kaendler in 1770, model no. C 98, and depicting Putto as a fish catcher with a basket raised on a rocaille-shaped base accented with gilding. Marked on the bottom with Meissen's crossed swords in underglaze blue and incised number C 98, 119.
Dimensions: H: 4 1/2 in., (11.4cm.)
Condition: Very good with expected signs of wear.
