SENUFO POLYCHROME CARVED WOOD MASK
African masks of the Senufo people. This African mask from the Senufo Tribe of Ivory Coast, Mali, and Burkina Faso is hand-carved of wood and hand painted. With pierced eyes, high forehead, delicately curved eyebrows, nose, lips and chicks. Provenance: Collection of Edward Frey, the author of The Kris: Mystic Weapon of the Malay World (Images of Asia).
Dimensions : Height: 17 in. (43.5 cm.)
Condition : Very good with paint partially lost due to the extensive use.
