A RARE & UNUSUAL ARMOR FINDING GEM OF COLLECTION PERSIAN WARRIOR SHIELD WITH SNAKE FIGURES ON CENTRAL PANEL SUN FIGURE EMBOSSED, RIM BORDER DECORATED WITH BRASS DECORATION WHICH MAKES THISSHIELD RARE AND UNUSUAL.

Province: Persian. . Made: Made of hand forged steel, hand hammered and hand chiseled. Centralpanel has Sun figure with Rays embossed. Border rim and some part of surface of shield bear an elaborate chiseled engraving withfloral and creeper design.4 bosses engraved with bird figures, which make this shield unusual and rare. The reverse of shield has2handles to hold & cloth padding. Shield measures 17 inches in diameter. Reserve of shield has thick cloth cushion & 2 cottonhandles to hold shield. This makes this shield adding dramatic detailing to this incredible piece of armor.
