GROPIUS WALTER: (1883-1969) German Architect. Founder of the Bauhaus School. Widely regarded as one of the pioneers of modernist architecture. A good T.L.S., `Walter Gropius´, one page, 4to, Cambridge, 27th October 1953, on his professional printed stationery, to Mr. Alfons Leitl. Gropius states in part `On May eleventh, I sent you with my letter several enclosures of texts as a tentative contribution for the arguments going on in your paper regarding the Bauhaus. I wonder whether any of this material has appeared in your paper, or not.´ The typed letter has been lightly affixed to a slightly large white card. About VG
