ROMMEL ERWIN: (1891-1944) German Field Marshal of World War II. Autograph envelope, unsigned, addressed in Rommel's hand in bold fountain pen ink to Karl Muhlbauer at Mannheim-Friedrichsfeld and marked Feldpost and with a cancellation featuring the Nazi eagle and swastika, dated 30th November 1942. One light vertical central fold, otherwise VG The present envelope was mailed in the same month that Rommel was defeated in the Second Battle of El Alamein, signifying the beginning of the end of the Western Desert Campaign.
