KOCH KARL-OTTO: (1897-1945) German SS-Standartenfuhrer, the first Commandant of the concentration camps at Buchenwald and Sachsenhausen. Husband of Ilse Koch, the 'Witch of Buchenwald'. Rare fountain pen ink signature ('Karl Koch') on an oblong 12mo piece neatly clipped from an official printed document and bearing the rubber stamped date 20th July 1936. Autographs of Koch are rare in any form as a result of his execution by firing squad at the age of 47 following his being sentenced to death at a trial for disgracing both himself and the SS.
