WILHELMINA: (1880-1962) Queen of the Netherlands 1890-1948. T.L.S., Wilhelmina, with holograph subscription, two pages, small 4to, London, 11th December 1940, to King George II of Greece, in French. The official diplomatic letter acknowledges receipt of the King of Greece's announcement that his sister-in-law, Princess Frederica Louisa, wife of his brother Crown Prince Paul, had given birth to a Prince, baptised Constantin, on 2nd June 1940 and states 'Please believe in my sincere sharing of the happiness that this blessed event has brought to him and his Royal Family'. Countersigned at the conclusion by Eelco van Kleffens (1894-1983) Dutch Politician and Diplomat, Minister of Foreign Affairs 1939-46. With blank integral leaf. Accompanied by the original envelope bearing a large circular blind embossed paper seal to the verso. VG George II (1890-1947) King of Greece 1922-24, 1935-47. Paul (1901-1964) King of Greece 1947-64, husband of Princess Frederica of Hanover (1917-1981) Queen Consort of Greece 1947-64, and later Queen Mother. Constantine II (1940- ) King of Greece 1964-73.
