TALLEYRAND-PÉRIGORD CHARLES MAURICE DE: (1754-1838) French Diplomat and Statesman. Prime Minister of France July-September 1815. A good A.L.S., `Le P.ce de Talleyrand´, one page, 4to, Paris, 5th January 1831, to Monsieur Dupertuy, in French. Talleyrand acknowledges receipt of his correspondent´s letter and thanks him for his good wishes, further stating in part `I have been quite ill for several weeks, but am better now. I hope that you could get rid of those violent headaches which made you suffer during November. The weather is fine, it will help you, and because it is freezing you will finally be able to fill my icehouses...´ Talleyrand further refers to a letter he has sent to the Director of tax contributions.
