BONAPARTE LOUIS: (1778-1846) King of Holland 1806-10. Younger brother of Napoleon Bonaparte. A good L.S., L. de St.Leu, two pages, 4to, Rome, 8th April 1825, to an unidentified Colonel, in French. Bonaparte signs using his title of Count of Saint-Leu, a title making reference to his property at Saint-Leu-la-Foret near Paris, and states in part `I have received your letter dated 5th, I had already received the health report of my sister. Do not miss giving me all possible details. I do not know when I will be able to go to Florence precisely because of the state of my own health..´, further and referring to his brother, Louis Bonaparte says `You have not told me if you had made the offer to my brother about staying at the villa, and why he did not accept. I would like to know clearly what can I expect about Monsieur Collini´s offer before my departure.´ Before concluding, Bonaparte refers again to his sister and family stating `I send you a letter attached for my sister, give it to her when she will be in good conditions to receive it. Go and see my brother-in-law and tell him that mum, myself, and we all here are very grateful for the care he is taking of my sister and that we thank him for this.´ With blank integral leaf. Folded.
