SEABORG GLENN T.: (1912-1999) American Chemist, Nobel Prize winner for Chemistry, 1951. Autograph Manuscript Signed, Glenn T. Seaborg (in the title), two pages, 4to, n.p., n.d. (annotated 21st May 1979 in another hand to the upper edge). The manuscript, with various corrections, is an abstract of Seaborg's work Our Heritage of the Elements and states, in part, 'The role of our heritage of chemical elements, natural and man-made, in determining our accomplishments throughout our history will be described. From the Stone Age to the beginning of the recent era of understanding of their nature…..mastery of the utilization of the elements has determined the destiny of nations……Today, with our advanced state of knowledge and the incentive of continuing our creative evolution of remaking and fully utilizing our environment, we have sufficient perspective to appreciate just how rich and important is our legacy to the chemical elements……Our future progress and well being will depend in large part in learning more about the chemical elements and their combinations.
