GARROS ROLAND: (1888-1918) French Aviator and Fighter Pilot during WWI. First to cross the Mediterranean sea by air. A good signed 5.5 x 3.5 postcard photograph, the attractive image showing his monoplane, before the Blériot´s hangar. Signed `Garros´, in black fountain pen ink across the image. Attractively matted to an overall size of 12 x 9.5. Garros died at the very early age of 29 when he was shot down by a German fighter pilot only a month before the end of the war.
