LAW ANDREW BONAR: (1858-1923) British Prime Minister 1922-23. A.L.S., A. Bonar Law, on two sides of a blind embossed House of Commons correspondence card, n.p. (London), 28th July n.y., to [Joseph] Maclay. Law asks his correspondent if an enclosure meets with his approval, remarking that 'it was very generous of you to suggest it', and asks, if so, whether he could close the letter and have it sent. Autograph letters of Law are scarce. About EX Joseph Maclay (1857-1951) 1st Baron Maclay. Scottish Businessman & Public Servant, Minister of Shipping 1916-21.
