[CHURCHILL WINSTON S.]: (1874-1965) British Prime Minister 1940-45, 1951-55. Nobel Prize winner for Literature, 1953. SOAMES MARY (1922-2014) British Author, daughter of Winston S. Churchill. A.L.S., Mary Soames, two pages, 8vo, Suvretta House, St. Moritz, 16th March n.y, (c. late 1940s/early 1950s), to a gentleman. Soames informs her correspondent that she cannot ask her father to sign a photograph, explaining 'He has so many similar requests that he only gives his signature under very special circumstances'. Some slight traces of former mounting to the right edge of the second page, and with one very small area of paper loss, not affecting the text or signature. Accompanied by an original 6.5 x 9 vintage press photograph of Winston Churchill seated in a half length pose at the desk of his study in Chartwell as he works on his memoirs.
