Churchill, with holograph salutation and subscription, one page, 4to, n.p. (London), 7th October 1939, to A. Marshall Diston, on the blind embossed stationery of the Admiralty. Churchill states that he is sorry to hear his correspondent's news, adding 'the more so as I do not know what I can do to help', however thanking Diston for having written. Accompanied by the original envelope. VG £400-600
