DAHANAYAKE WIJEYANANDA: (1901-1997) Sri Lankan Politician, Leader of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party. Prime Minister of Ceylon 1959-60. A.L.S., W. Dahanayake MP, signed three times, at the head and base of the letter and to the envelope, one page, 8vo, Ceylon, August 1961, on the Ceylon House of Representatives printed stationery, to H. Keith Thompson. An interesting thought by Dahanayake about war crime. A bold purple ink autograph text, stating `I am of the opinion that the war crimes trials were illegal. If after each war, the victors establish a war crimes tribunal, the best men among the vanquished will be sacrificed at the altar of the thirst for blood of the victors. Why cannot the victors and the vanquished forget and forgive? A letter of good content. Accompanied by the original envelope in Dahanayake´s hand. VG £80-100
