COUBERTIN PIERRE DE: (1863-1937) Charles Pierre de Frédy, Baron de Coubertin. French Educator, Founder of the International Olympic Committee. Widely known as the father of the modern Olympic Games. An excellent and rare A.L.S. `P.C´, signed to the front page, two pages, 4to, Lausanne, 25th April 1928, to Hector Barbe, in French. Coubertin first refers to his recent problems stating in part `Despite the fact that for the last four months I have lived the most painful weeks of my life, I have often been thinking in you, and I read your January publication..´, Coubertin further refers to the many difficult years he had to go through, saying in part `During seven years I have been writing myself and in full the monthly Revue Olympique and the Chronique de France
