FURTWANGLER WILHELM: (1886-1954) German Conductor and Composer. T.L.S., `W Furtwangler´, one page, 4to, Carlton House Terrace, London, 15th May 1935, to Generalintendant Walleck, in German. Furtwangler seems concerned with a Wagner opera rehearsals and states in part `May I from London ask you to tell me what the cast in Tristan and Isolde in Munich will finally be and when the rehearsals can take place.´ Furtwangler further explains his next month availability, and requests information from his correspondent about the way the concert planned in the meantime has now been settled, and before concluding says `Regarding the cast, I would like to say that I have no objection to Rohde as Kurwenal on my side, on the contrary.´ Small stain, not affecting the large and attractive bold black ink signature.
