PIUS XII: (1876-1958) Pope of the Roman Catholic Church 1939-58. L.S., E. Card. Pacelli, one page, folio, Vatican City, 3rd July 1930, to Monsignor Giulio Serafini, on the printed stationery of the Secretary of State of His Holiness. Pius XII, in his capacity as Cardinal Secretary of State, appoints Cardinal Serafini and reports on the assigned sacred consistorial congregations of the council. With blank integral leaf. The document bears the watermark of the Secretary of State of His Holiness. Accompanied by the original envelope bearing a large and attractive paper seal to the verso. VG to EX
Giulio Serafini (1867-1938) Appointed Cardinal on 30th June 1930 and Prefect of the Congregation of the Council on 4th July 1930, three days before and the day after the present letter was written.
