Empress Consort of Russia 1894-1917, wife of Tsar Nicholas II. The last Tsarina of Russia, known for her notorious friendship with the Russian mystic Rasputin. Assassinated. An original and unique 3.5 x 3.5 photograph taken by the Empress Alexandra, unsigned. The image showing Tsar Nicholas II outdoors, in a full length pose, during a hunting journey, holding his rifle and pointing something or a place with his index. The image shows alongside the Emperor several officers and guards. The photograph has been lightly affixed to a slightly larger card, bearing the annotation in French `feute(sic) par S.M. l´Imperature(sic) 1906´ (''Done by His Majesty the Empress 1906'') to the lower border. Nicholas II was a keen amateur photographer. He took pictures throughout his life and himself glued the photographs into albums. It is widely known that his wife Empress Alexandra and their children all shared his passion.
