ALI MUHAMMAD: (1942-2016) American Boxer, World Heavyweight Champion.
A good signed 10 x 8 photograph of Ali standing in a half length pose, with a white towel hanging around his neck over his bare chest, in a scene from the 1977 film The Greatest. A printed caption to the lower border explains that the image shows heavyweight boxing contender Cassius Clay, following his victory over Henry Cooper, learning that he has won a bout for the world title against Sonny Liston. Signed ('Muhammad Ali') in bold black ink to a clear area at the centre of the image and dated 19th April 1986 in his hand. EXFrom an early stage of Ali's career, the pugilist was recognised as an inspiring, controversial and polarising figure both inside and outside of the boxing ring, and is widely regarded as one of the most significant and celebrated sports figures of the 20th century.
