WITZLEBEN ERWIN VON: (1881-1944) German Field Marshal of World War II, Knight's Cross winner. A resistance fighter in the July 20 Plot against Hitler. Vintage signed colour 3.5 x 5.5 postcard by Witzleben, the image being a reproduction of a head and shoulders study of the Field Marshal by an artist, depicting Witzleben in his uniform and holding his spectacles in one hand. Signed ('v. Witzleben') with his name alone in fountain pen ink to the lower left corner. The signature is a little light in places, although legible. Some light staining and creasing to the lower part of the postcard, slightly affecting the signature, and with some traces of former mounting to the verso, G
