CAMPBELL DONALD: (1921-1967) British Car & Motorboat Racer, World Land and Water Speed Record Holder in the 1950s and 1960s. T.L.S., Donald, with holograph salutation and subscription, one page, 4to, Horsley, Surrey, 11th May 1950, to Squadron Leader D. A. de S. Young-James. Campbell thanks his correspondent for their letter and some cuttings of photographs taken at a re-union dinner ('They are certainly very passable') and further thanks him for their good wishes, commenting 'I am hoping that we shall be going Northward with “Blue-Bird” on the 24th June next', and concluding by remarking that he will not be in Reigate for the Whitsun weekend, but hopes to be back on the 30th May, inviting his correspondent to call in if they are in the vicinity.
