The Duke thanks his correspondent for 'the delicious haunch of venison' which had been delivered to his house, and remarks 'Your welcome gift is a valuable addition to our meager (sic) rations, the enjoyment of which we shared last night in company with Max Beaverbrook, Harold Balfour and Arthur Forbes. We appreciate the literal way in which you have taken our broad hint a great deal!', further adding that it was very nice to have seen his correspondent recently and that he has 'not forgotten your invitation to pay you a visit at your headquarters in Gottesberg and hope it will be possible for me to make the trip after New Year's and when my plans are a little less indefinite'.
