LAMARTINE ALPHONSE DE: (1790-1869) French Writer, Poet and Politician. D.S., Lamartine, being a signed mandate, Paris, 1st of May 1856. The partially printed document is made payable to Jules Crombé, Mayor of Roubaix, for the sum of 20 Francs and corresponds to the value of a literature course registration fee. Lamartine´s dark fountain pen ink signature is unaffected by any bank cancellation. With a blind embossed imperial seal to the front left lower corner. Bearing to the verso several bank cancellations ink stamps. With very small area of paper loss to the upper edge, not affecting Lamartine´s signature. F to G £100-120
