EMPRESS ALEXANDRA FEODOROVNA: (1798-1860) Princess Charlotte of Prussia. Empress Consort of Russia 1825-55, wife of Emperor Nicholas I and mother of future Emperor Alexander II. An attractive A.L.S., by Empress Alexandra Feodorovna, one page, 12mo, Saint Petersburg, 18th March 1837, to Troubetzkoy, in French. The Empress states `..Hamman played well yesterday, in a heartbreaking manner. I hope that the whole family will be fine tomorrow..´ Beneath the Empress´ message, Troubetzkoy adds a four lines annotation in his hand, forwarding to the musician the Empress own letter, and states `Find above, Monsieur, few written lines in the hand of the Empress related to you. It is a great pleasure for me to forward it to you.´ Dated in the hand of Troubetzkoy. The letter has been neatly affixed to a larger sheet. Few small stains to the edges, not affecting the text or signature. F to G £200-300
