L.S., J.B., Bernadotte, one page, large folio, Mannheim headquarters, 26th March 1799, to the administrators of the Rhin and Moselle department. Bernadotte, in his capacity as Commandant of the observation army, thanks and congratulates his correspondents for their sincere support and work for the republic, sand states in part `..the care you took accomplishing the task of transporting 200 vehicles from Andernach to Gulz. I will write to the Minister denouncing the suppliers recklessness and will request that they grant you 10.000 francs to be distributed..´ Small overall, minor age wear, with edges slightly trimmed.
