EIFFEL GUSTAVE: (1832-1923) French Civil Engineer, designer of the Eiffel Tower and the Statue of Liberty. A good A.L.S., G. Eiffel, two pages, 8vo, Sevres, 14th June 1916, to Paul Fort, in French. On his personal printed stationery Eiffel sends his congratulations to his correspondent for his edited work of ballads and his inscription, and states in part `..It is a pleasure to say that it is a lovely collection. I have read some of your ballads for my family, children and grand-children, and am sure they will be pleased if I forward copies to them..´ Small overall age wear, with darker edges due to former mounting. G £600-900 Les Ballades Françaises (''The French Ballads'') by Paul Fort were edited by Monnier in 1916.
