KOLLWITZ KÄTHE : (1867-1945) German Painter and Sculpture associated with Expressionism. First woman elected to the Prussian Academy of Arts. A.L.S., Kathe Kollwitz, two pages, 4to, Berlin, February 1919, in German. Kollwitz recommends a talented musician to her correspondent, stating `Miss Gerda Rosenthal brought me her compositional drafts. Miss Rosenthal seems extraordinary talented to me and it is to be considered that financial difficulties may hinder her further thoroughly education. Therefore it would be very welcome if the city of Berlin could support the young ambitious artist with a scholarship or any other grant.´ Folded and very small age wear, otherwise VG £100-120
