LOUIS XVI: (1754-1793) King of France and Navarre 1774-1791, King of the French 1791-92. The only King of France to have been executed. A good D.S., Louis, a bold and good signature example, two pages, folio, Versailles, 24th December 1782, in French. The document being an order given by the King instructing the municipality of Bordeaux to send to the Royal Treasury department the excess of tax collection as agreed by the Royal finance council, and which they have fixed at 216.876 pounds. Countersigned by Jean-François Joly de Fleury (1718-1802) Minister of Finance, Claude Henry Feydeau de Marville (1705-1785) Finance Counselor and Jean Louis Moreau de Beaumont (1715-1785) State Counselor. Very small foxing stains, mostly to the edges which are very slightly damaged, otherwise G £1000-1200
