[ALFONSO XIII]: (1886-1941) King of Spain 1886-1931. D.S., `Yo el Rey´, two pages, folio, Palacio, 20th June 1920, in Spanish. The partially printed document bears the heading The King, and is the appointment of Luis Canbot y Rubio as Lieutenant of artillery. The document bears a blind embossed seal of King Alfonso XIII alongside his stamped signature. Countersigned at the base by the Minister of war Luis de Marichalar y Monreal. With three additional countersignatures to the second page, alongside ink stamps from military departments of Barcelona. With blank integral leaf. Accompanied by an unsigned contemporary 4 x 6 cabinet photograph in very fine condition, the Valentin Gomez image, Madrid, showing a young King Alfonso XIII, standing, in a three quarter length pose, in uniform. With few very small stains not affecting the signature, folded, otherwise VG £100-150
