CAVOUR COUNT OF : (1810-1861) Camillo Benso, Count of Cavour. Italian Statesman, and a leading figure of the Italian unification. Cavour took office as the first Prime Minister of Italy in 1861, but passed away only three months after. A.L.S., `C. Cavour´, one page, Naples, 28th June evening, n.y., to Marquis of Villamarina, in French. An interesting content letter, Cavour stating in part `Receive instructions from Fasciatti who is departing this evening. Keep yourself with benevolent reserve…If you are interrogated, limit yourself to advise the immediate suspension of hostilities in Sicily.´ further adding `Claim for the release of the imprisoned persons from the two captured ships.
