MCDANIEL HATTIE: (1895-1952) American actress, Academy Award winner for Best Supporting Actress in 1939 for her role as Mammy in Gone with the Wind, thereby becoming the first African American to win an Oscar. An excellent vintage signed 8 x 10 photograph of McDaniel seated in a cheerful three-quarter length pose. Photograph by Ben Polin for CBS and bearing his credit stamp to the verso.
