Fountain pen ink signature ('Manuel, Roi de Portugal') on an 8vo page removed from an album, also signed by Augusta Victoria of Hohenzollern (1890-1966) German Princess, Queen consort of Portugal and the Algarves 1913-32 (in exile) as wife of King Manuel II; Amelie of Orleans (1865-1951) Princess of Orleans, Queen consort of Portugal 1889-1908 as wife of King Carlos I, mother of King Manuel II; Prince Jean of Orleans (1874-1940) Duke of Guise, the Orléanist pretender to the French throne 1926-40; and Princess Isabelle of Orleans (1878-1961) Duchess of Guise, wife of Prince Jean of Orleans; and further signed to the verso by Prince Roman Petrovich of Russia (1896-1978) Russian Prince, a member of the House of Romanov; Princess Victoria Melita of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha (1876-1936) British Princess, later Grand Duchess Victoria Feodorovna of Russia, a granddaughter of Queen Victoria and also of Emperor Alexander II of Russia; and Grand Duchess Kira Kirillovna of Russia (1909-1967) Princess of Prussia, wife of Prince Louis Ferdinand of Prussia and daughter of Princess Victoria Melita. Some very light, minor age wear and with light tape stains to two edges, not affecting the signatures, VG Provenance: The present page was removed from the personal album of Baron Robert Stuker (1863-1940) Swiss historian, interpreter, diplomat and educator, a language specialist who was appointed tutor at the Greek Royal Court under King George I. Stuker was later appointed as Royal Chamberlain, Court Librarian and Personal Secretary to the King. Stuker accompanied members of the Greek Royal family on trips, took on sensitive diplomatic missions and became the King's advisor. Following his service with the Greek Royal family, Pope Pius XI appointed the Reformed Protestant Stuker as master of ceremonies and interpreter at the Vatican in 1924, posts he was to hold until 1935. In later years the album was added to whilst in the custody of Jurg Stuker (1914-1988) Swiss antiquarian bookseller and founder of the Stuker auction house in Bern, stepson of Robert Stuker.
