LOUIS XVIII: (1755-1824) King of France 1814-15 & 1815-24, & CHARLES X (1757-1836) Count of Artois. King of France 1824-30. Rare L.S., Louis Stanislas Xavier, and Charles Philippe, one page, 4to, Schšnbornslust, 11th November 1791, to Count Franois de Soustain, in French. The two Princes in exile refer to the declaration of the Royal-Guyenne regiment officers received from Count Soustain, stating `..we have responded that we approve the officers behaviour regarding their oath; we also approve the steps taken since then in order to get closer to the Kingdom«s boundary, and we order them to remain with their regiments until they receive our new order, unless they experience riots among their corps..« Charles Philippe adds the place and date in his hand before signing. An unusual revolution date letter signed by the two brothers of King Louis XVI and future Kings of France. With blank integral leaf. Some overall age wear and creasing, otherwise VG £600-900 Louis Stanislas could leave Paris only few months earlier, while his brother King Louis XVI and family were arrested and taken back. Louis Stanislas and Charles Philippe, in exile at the Schšnbornslust castle were they receive worrying news from Paris, try to get closer to France«s boundary and organize troops intending to return to Paris.
