DE CHOISY FRANCOIS-TIMOLEON: (1644-1724) French cross-dresser, abbe and author. A.L.S., L’abbe De Choisy, two pages, small 4to, Paris, 21 st November 1701, to a gentleman, in French. De Choisy states that his correspondent has always treated him in an obliging manner, adding ‘je recois comme je le dois l'avertissement que vous me faites l'honneur de me donner’ (Translation: ‘I receive as I must the warning that you do me the honour of giving me’) and continuing to remark that a priest will inform him of all the steps that have been undertaken to dispose of the house and that Mr. de Bellefontaine had always promised that the matter would be concluded, further adding that he has not yet given up and that the necessary repairs are being undertaken and, if these are not completed over the winter, then De Choisy will go himself in the spring to put things in order.
