MATHIEU GEORGES: (1921-2012) French abstract painter. T.L.S., ` Mathieu´, a bold ink signature, one page, 4to, Avenue Léopold II, Paris, 1 st September 1970, to Anthony Krafft, on Mathieu's attractive printed stationery featuring a black ink abstract image at the head, in French. The artist responds to his correspondent´s message, stating in part, ' Je viens de prier M. Biraud – l´industriel qui m´a commandé l´usine – de vous addresser dès qu´il le peut de Nouvelles photographies du bâtiment. Je me suis rendu moi-même à Fontenay-le-Comte au debut du mois d´août pour controles la finition des extrémités de l´usine et vous seres ainsi le premier à publier ces photographies. Il est à noter que les vitres ne sont toutefois pas encore posés ni d´ailleurs les brise-soleils, qui doivent courir sur tout le pourtour´ (Translation: “ I have just asked Mr. Biraud – the industrialist who engaged me for the factory project – to send you new photographs of the building as soon as possible. I went myself to Fontenay-le-Comte at the beginning of August to check the finishing of the borders of the factory and you will be the first to publish these photographs. It should be noted that the windows have not yet been installed nor the sunshades, which must run around the entire perimeter”) VG
