BRETON ANDRE: (1896-1966) French Writer and Poet. One of the main figures and co-founder of Surrealism. Unusual and very interesting document related to René Magritte bearing multiple annotations in the hand of Breton, one page, 4to, n.p., n.d., in French. The document relates to Magritte, to artistic concepts, to Paul Nougé and to his first work Histoire de ne pas rire (1956). Breton adds to the borders, base, and in between lines multiple and lengthy interesting annotations, stating in part `Proverbs in the Flemish painting in the XVI century…the genuine common sens, I mean the one of the great poets.. the Chirico enigma was solemnly placed in the metaphysical questioning´, also describing and explaining the difference between `Intimate and internal sense..common sense..literally..figuratively..´ and referring to objects, to their utility and to their own life `like puppets´. A very interesting content document with multiple conceptual art annotations in the hand of Breton related to Magritte. VG £300-400
