BENAVENTE JACINTO: (1866-1954) Spanish Dramatist, Nobel Prize winner for Literature, 1922. An excellent vintage signed and inscribed 7 x 9 photograph, `Jacinto Benavente´, with two statements in his hand to the verso, three lines each, in Spanish. The Perez de Leon image, Madrid, showing the Spanish writer seated in a half length pose. In bold black ink, Benavente annotates to the upper left corner `To Tomas Seseña, a souvenir from his good friend - Jacinto Benavente´, also dated May 1945 in his hand. With two autograph statements to the verso `It is fine to subdue your heart and even your will, but never the intelligence´, and `God free us from the friend who forgives us and celebrates our defects publishing them.´ VG £200-300
