FONCK RENE: (1894-1953) French Aviator, the top Allied Fighter Ace of World War I. Rare vintage signed and inscribed 5 x 7 photograph of Fonck, the image showing the French fighter ace standing in a half length pose, wearing his uniform and medals. Signed and inscribed by Fonck `A Monsieur Massuger, mon souvenir de mes 6 battus dans la même journée. En bonne amitié, R. Fonck´ in bold dark fountain pen ink to a partially clear area of the image. VG £600-900
Louis Massuger was a French engineer of Hispano-Suiza. Fonck refers in his inscription to the six victories he achieved on the 9th May 1918.
