FOUQUIER-TINVILLE ANTOINE QUENTIN: (1746-1795) French Revolutionary and Prosecutor during the Revolution and Reign of Terror periods. Sentenced to death and guillotined. An excellent D.S., A.Q. Fouquier, a good signature example, two pages, 4to, Paris, 16th July 1794, to the citizens administrators of the Yonne Directory, in French. The partially printed document being the report of two sentences to death and order to seize the belongings of the condemned. Fouquier-Tinville, in his capacity as Public Prosecutor of the Revolutionary Tribunal, states that `..all goods in the department of Yonne belonging to citizens known as Poirier, shoemaker, and Jean Leroy, also called Sans-Gene, both sentenced to death, must be seized...´ The document bears to the front heading a large red wax seal. A very interesting document. Very slightly trimmed edges, otherwise VG £1200-1500
