CLAIR RENÉ: (1898-1981) French Film Director. A good and interesting manuscript signed `R. C´, crossed, one page, 4to, n.p., n.d., on his personal printed stationery, to Colette Monceau, in French. Clair refers to Chaplin and Lubitsch and cinema, stating in part `Chaplin´s masterpiece has created a style which Lubitsch was inspired by, and which trace can be found in his best comedies. This ascertainment do not diminish the author of Trouble in Paradise. To have masters do not have to make you blush..´ With multiple corrections and amendments. Together with T.L.S., René Clair, one page, 8vo, 12th March 1971, to Colette Monceau, referring to the graphology study of his writing. Accompanied by the original envelope.
