Herminie states `You have been kind enough allowing my husband to include on your Sunday publication a little article related to his concert, I send it to you

The libretto was adapted from a Jules Verne short story. Jacques Offenbach, son of a synagogue cantor, had to convert from Judaism to Roman Catholicism to marry Herminie.
