LISZT FRANZ: (1811-1886) Austrian-Hungarian Composer. A good A.L.S., `F. Liszt´, two pages, 8vo, n.p., n.d., to Prince Poniatowski, in French. Liszt was on his way to visit Poniatowski when they crossed each other, and states `Not knowing if my concert preparations would allow me to meet you before tomorrow evening, I come to beg you to be kind enough and please me with your presence tomorrow Saturday at Cora..´ further saying `I know that you are invited at Princess Metternich´s home, but the concert will be closed before our chops will have time to get cold. Forgive my lack of manners invitation; and do not make me wait till Florence to better know each other..´ The letter bears to the upper front corner the blind embossed seal of Bath. Folded.
