PAUL VI: (1897-1978) Pope of the Roman Catholic Church 1963-78. A very fine A.L.S., `GB. Montini´, one page, 8vo, Rome, 24th March 1942, to an unidentified Cardinal, in Italian. The letter bears the letterhead of the ''Segretaria Di Stato Di Sua Santita'' (''Secretariat of State of His Holiness''), created under Paul Pius XII with Montini at the head during WWII. Paul VI informs his correspondent about Pope Pius XII decision, stating in part `I have the pleasure to inform you that His Holiness has benignly deigned to consent the requested permission to bless the marriage
