Irena Rain, b. 1963, oil on canvas, 41 by 50 cm signed, and framed, size including frame: 63 by 73 cm
Born in Russia, she studied and taught at the Art Academy according to the classical painting techniques. Over the years in Israel, she developed a personal painting technique that became a unique visual language associated with her creative style. The classical technique did not satisfy Irena and she began to act "in the opposite way". Irena removes the paint, instead of hiding the fabric, and reveals it. The technique reached by Irena gives a feeling of lightness and atmosphere on the canvas.
