Irena Rain, b. 1963, oil on canvas, 90 by 60 cm.
Born in Russia. She studied and taught at the Academy of Art according to the classical painting techniques. Over the years in Israel, she has developed a personal painting technique that has become a unique visual language identified with her creative style. The classical technique did not satisfy Irena and she began to act "in reverse". Irena removes the paint, instead of hiding the canvas, and exposes it. The technique Irena came up with gives a feeling of lightness and atmosphere on the canvas.
