Alla Ostrovsky, tempera, oil and acrylic on on wood, 50 by 40 cm, signed

My name is Alla Ostrovsky, and I am an Israeli artist and designer, a member of the Petah Tikva Artists Association.
Since childhood, I have adored drawing, attending art school, various studios, and courses. Later, life's circumstances meant less time for art, but I stayed close to my passion by becoming a designer, working at Adrecom.net for the past 25 years.
I have been drawing almost all my life and have admired the Renaissance painters since childhood. Their level of skill seemed to me an unattainable peak. Looking at paintings in museums around the world, I increasingly doubted the ability of any of the contemporary artists to even come close to the level of their realism and subtlety of image elaboration.
The old masters had a deep knowledge of aerial perspective and anatomy, and they created shades of amazing depth that cannot be mixed on the palette.
Studying their works, I learned that the secrets of their craftsmanship are not a secret, and after long training you can master the art of painting in the style of the old masters. Using recreated unique technologies of the Renaissance and modern means and methods, I try to get closer to the perfection of high art.
The technique of optical lumens is closest to the natural perception of real-life light and color.
Paintings using optical transmission technology are painted not on canvas, as usual, but on board, in oil, tempera and acrylic. At the final stage, the painting is varnished to protect the painting's layers. Such a picture can take months or years to paint, working out more and more details every day, but the result is worth it!
